The Human Robot Summary:
The antagonist of the story, Prem Chopra buys a robot named Ram Singh. He buys it for his own help. But in reality he wants to use it for his evil purposes. The robot is human like and blue in colour. However, Prem, the owner, starts to use it to steal fruits, foods from the shop. The robot obeys its master just like a faithful dog. So Prem instructs it to steal jewelry from the shop. Likewise the robot steals the precious jewel very silently.
However, days pass by and the amount of stealing has been increased. The shopkeepers have become anxious. So they have registered a complain in police station. And the police also starts to find the thief out. So they start to wait for the culprit in a jewelry store. Prem gives instructions to his robot from a distance. The robot also obeys his order and enters into the store. As it lifts a jewel, the police catch the robot.
Trials:
The case goes to the court where the trial starts. The judge asks Prem to accept his crime. But he doesn’t accept. So the court orders to present the robot into the witness box. The govt counsel Mr. Goel asks the robot to tell the truth. But the robot doesn’t give the answer as its master has instructed to do so. However, at the end of the story, the court finds Prem guilty and gives him punishment.
The Human Robot analysis:
The story is based on modern technological advancements. It tells us grim truth of modern sophisticated men. It is not the fault of technology but of its users who do misuse it. Prem is a symbol of modern evil human being. So the story makes irony of modern aristocratic beings.
