Answer- Andrew manson attends to delivery of Morga 's
wife.but he is shoked to find that the child is stillborn.He makes great efforts to revive the child. He shouts at the nurse to bring cold & hot water .He lays the child on the blanket & begins the special method of respiration. Then he puts the child alternatively in the cold & hot water basins. He works frantically. He has been labouring for half an hour. Now he makes one last efforts. He rubs the child with a rough towel ,press hard & releases the little chest with both his hands.
There a miracle happens . The child give one heaven another. He redoubled his efforts now the child is gasping deeper & deeper .The white skin is slowly turning pink. Then comes child ' s cry. Although manson extremely tired, he is extremely satisfied with himself. He says I've done something real at last .He says so because he has been feeling disappointed in his life this is the really satisfying thing done by him.​

We find Joe Morgan waiting for Andrew Manson at midnight. Andrew Manson was tired and not in a proper frame of mind. Even then he accompanied Joe to his house. He was a good judge of men and matters. When he realized that the old lady feared that the doctor might leave the case, he assured her. He realized that the case demanded his immediate attention. He declared that he would not leave the place till everything was over.

We find Andrew Manson a clear headed person. He could resolve any issue. He didn't hesitate even to do any experiment. Plunging the child into the icy and hot waters turn by turn was a daring experiment.Similarly, rubbing and releasing the chest with a rough towel was another experiment. It, finally brought success to the doctor. In the end, Andrew was satisfied that he did everything whatever had been expected of him.
