Chapter --- COMBUSTION When 5kg of fuel is burnt it produces 50000 joule of heat energy. Find its calorific value ​

Calorific value = Energy Produced÷ Mass of Fuel

I.e. 2,00,000÷5 = 40,000 KJ/Kg.

The heat produced by combustion of a fuel mass.It is expressed in Joules per Kilograms.

calorific value

 =  \frac{heat \: energy \: in \: joules}{mass \: of \: fuel}

 =  \frac{50000 \: joule}{5kg}

 = 10000joules \: per \: kg
