QUESTION : 4 cm tall object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a convex lens of focal length 20cm. If the distance of the object is 30 cm from the lens find the position and nature of the image.

f= 20 cm

u= -30 cm

use,
1/f = 1/v - 1/u

1/20 = 1/v + 1/30

1/20 - 1 / 30 = 1/v

3-2/ 60 = 1/v

v= 6o cm

nature is REAL AND INVERTED
