Answer:

Exhalation is the flow of the breath out of an organism. In humans, it is the movement of air from the lungs out of the airways, to the external environment during breathing.

During exhalation, your diaphragm relaxes and moves upward into the chest cavity. The intercostal muscles between the ribs also relax to reduce the space in the chest cavity. As they relax they position rib cage downwards and inwards.

As the space in the chest cavity gets smaller, the air rich in carbon dioxide is forced out of your lungs and windpipe, and then out of your nose or mouth.

Hence During exhalation, the ribs move downwards.

So, the correct answer is 'Move downwards

Bronchioles end in tiny air sacs called alveoli, where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide actually takes place. Each person has hundreds of millions of alveoli in their lungs. This network of alveoli, bronchioles, and bronchi is known as the bronchial tree.

Gas exchange is the delivery of oxygen from the lungs to the bloodstream, and the elimination of carbon dioxide from the bloodstream to the lungs. It occurs in the lungs between the alveoli and a network of tiny blood vessels called capillaries, which are located in the walls of the alveoli

Stomata-Plants breathe through a tiny opening in leaves called stomata.
