x=7/10-y/2

put x in (i)

5(7-5y/10)+10y=8

(7-5y+20y)/2=8

7+15y=16

15y=16-7

15y=9

y=9/15

y=3/5

put y in (ii)

2x+3/5=7/5

2x=7/5-3/5

2x=7-3/5=4/5

x=4/10
