Answers
★Given:-
- A solution is obtained by mixing 300g of 25% solution and 400g of 40% solution by mass .
★To find:-
- Calculate the mass percentage of the resulting solution.
★Solution:-
300g of 25% solution contains solute:-
Mass of solute (1)= 300g × 25/100
= 75g
400g of 40% solution contains solute:-
Mass of solute (2)= 400g ×40/100
= 160g
Total mass of solute=75+160
= 235g
Given 300g & 400g solution is used
Therefore,
Total mass of solution=300 + 400
= 700g
Using the formula,
✦Percentage composition by mass of solute = mass of solute / total mass of solution ×100
Where we have:
- Mass of solute = 235
- Total mass of solution = 700
Putting values,
Percentage composition of solute in solution after mixing:-
⇒235/700 ×100
⇒33.57%
Percentage composition of solvent in solution after mixing:-
⇒ 100 - 33.5
⇒ 66.43%

Explanation:
- Chapter : Solution
Solute :
The components present is lesser amount than components in solution is called solute.
Solvent:
The components present is greater amount than components in solution is called solvent.
Solution:
Solution = solute + solvent
Properties of solution:
- A solution consists of a single phase
- Eg :Monophasic system
Mass percentage of solute in the solution,
•°• Mass Percentage of solute in solution is 33.57%
