a) they both were artists and lived in the same so they became friends.
e)She wanted her friend to get better both physically and mentally as jhonsy got pneumonia and she lost her will to live that's why no medicine was working on her.
Mr Behrman was an old man. His only aim was to paint a masterpiece in his life .Johnsy was going to die and only the last leaf would save her . this convinced him to paint the ivy leaf which saved Jhonsy's life.
