Answer:

GIVEN : WORK DONE = 150 J

FORCE APPLIED = 10 N

As we know that ,

Work done = F.s = Fs cosx

where x is the angle between F and s vector.

as it is in straight line so x = 0°

So, W = Fs here

hence, 150J = 10N × s

so, s = 150J/10N = 15m

So in straight line direction cart will move 15m.

Given:

  • 150 J of work is done.
  • Force = 10 N

To find:

  • Displacement of cart and the direction of displacement ?

Calculation:

  • Let us assume that the force as applied along the line of displacement of the cart such that the angle between the displacement vector and the force vector is 0°.

Now, the general expression of work done is:

W = F \times d \times  \cos( \theta)

 \implies 150 = 10 \times d \times \cos( \ {0}^{ \circ} )

 \implies 150 = 10 \times d \times 1

 \implies 150 = 10 \times d

 \implies d = 15 \: m

So, the the displacement of 15 m along the direction of application of force.
