There are many characters in the play The Rivals. Out of them 4 are the main characters and out of the 4 two are of utmost importance, and they are Sir Anthony Absolute and Captain Jack Absolute.  

They are father and son in relation. Anthony is a wealthy Baronet and changed his manners as per the association, and Jack was gentleman and bit romantic. He was a little mischievous too.
