Despite being physically challenged, Helen lived her life to the fullest.She was born on June 27, 1880 at Tuscumbia, Alabama. She enjoyed normal life for 19 months but a mysterious illness robbed her of the faculty of seeing and hearing.
Helen was a great lover of nature. Initially, she was a sullen , angry child but Miss Sullivan changed all that. She educated Helen giving her peace. Despite her handicap, Helen neither indulged in any self pity nor lost her self confidence.Her patience, strong willpower, determination helped her conquer her handicap and become a great woman who is seen as an inspiration to everyone.
