In the play Refund, Wasserkopf is a person who feels that he is jobless and a failure because the school he studied in did not give him proper education. He refuses to accept the fact that his failures are because of his own action and blames the school for this. In order to get justice for this, he decides to act according to the advice given by his friend and claim refund of the fees he paid eighteen years ago. He enters the school as an angry and arrogant person when he comes to ask for the refund.
