Terenty was a cobbler. He was a tall man. Terenty was old aged. He had a thin,pock marked face. But, he had very long crane like legs. And he was barefooted. He was dressed in a woman's tattered jacket. Terenty was very caring. Terenty knows everything. He knows the name of all the wild flowers, animals and stone etc. He knows every medicinal plants. He has no difficulty in telling the age of a horse or a cow. He can predicate what sort of weather it will be next day. He was so wise. Terenty loved nature. Terenty is an important character in the story 'A Day in the Country'.
