bepin babu was middle aged man.he was self centered reserved as he lived alone as his wife died and he had no children.he was very labourious and sincere towards his work and had good reputation also.he was very passionate about books and would read 5 books every week.

however, he was insensitive towards others and when his friend Chunilal approached him, he was never welcomed. after the plan was successful...when chunilal revealed the reality about his plan, bepin didin't tell it to the doctor , this shows that his own conscience has pricked him and he realised his fault.
