Answer:

Anne Frank, the author of the book “The diary of a young girl”, was a teenager when she started to write on this diary. Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany. Anne called herself a lonely adolescent because she had no one to open her heart with. On her 13th birthday, she got a diary as a present. She named her ‘Kitty’. She used to xpress her innermost thoughts & feelings by writing in that diary. Anne had a lovely family of 5 people (including her) a grandmother, father, mother & an elder sister. Anne’s grandmother expired before her 13th birthday. She loved her grandmother so much that she don’t wanted to celebrate her birthday. & she loved her father too, she said that she loved no one in this world but her daddy. She didn’t liked her mum because according to her she is not good mother. Whenever her father loved her sister she used to get upset but don’t get jealous of her sister. Her sister’s name is Margot, she is 3 yrs elder to her.

It was the time of hitler’s regime. Anne’s family is a Jew & her father was the president of that community. So they had to live in a hiding, in a secret annex (in Anne’s father’s office). Only few people knew about it. She is quiet, modest and a lively, curious girl of thirteen. She remains optimistic throughout the months they are in hiding and always makes the best of the situation she is in.

Anne Frank is the main character of the novel. Her diary entries give an insight about her character and personality. Anne find a good and confident friend in the form of her diary which which she could share all her feelings. She share everything with her diary. She does not think she is pretty, but she is confident that her personality and other good traits make up for it.

Anne is a playful and comical but with the serious side. She is content and optimistic despite the threats and danger that her family faces. She is remarkably forthright and perceptive at the beginning of the diary but as she leaves her normal childhood behind and enters the dire and unusual circumstances of the holocaust, she becomes more introspective and thoughtful. Anne feels extremely lonely and in need of kindness and affection.
