Ausable was the main protagonist. The writer had portrayed him as a secret agent. His looks did not assemble to a secret agent though as he was a fat man with short height. He has a new England accent. He spoke French and German passably. He had a sharp and witty mind as he was able to handle another secret agent named Max. He even made Max believe that there is a balcony outside the window from where anyone could escape.
