“The Financial Expert” is written by R.K. Narayan and the backdrop is the Malgudi Town. In the is novel three characters play a vital role. The three characters are Margayya, Meena and Balu. The other characters in the novel are Dr. Pal, Brinda, Madam Lal, and Arul Doss. Balu was the son of Margayya and Meena. He is a spoilt brat. He is not a responsible child.
He is neither disciplined nor does he care for people. He was an unmotivated boy since childhood as he had no interest in reforming himself. His marriage also failed because he could not take care of his family. He brings downfall to his fathers’ business because of his rash behavior.
