Answer:

Real name of Bholi was Sulekha. Bholi has a series of unfortunate events in her life which everyone generally has and it highlights the human struggle.

She fell down when she was 10 months old and damaging a part of her brain in the process. She was unable to speak until she was 5 years old and when she started speaking she stammered a lot. Her body was completely disfigured due to small pox.

Despite of all adversities, Bholi was a very hardworking girl and due to her teacher's support she became bold and confident.

Character SKetch of Bholi's Father Ramlal :

  • Ramlal was father of Seven Children
  • Ramlal was worried about Bholi, Because Bholi was neither good looking nor intelligent
  • Ramlal overlooked his potential son in law  Bishambher's age and his disability of liming.
  • Ramlal also suffered from a false sense of honour.

Character sketch of Bholi's Mother :

  • She never took care of Bholi , neither when she was child nor when she was young.
  • She was having that typical mentality that girls should not be educated.
  • She was not concerned about Bholi's learning or clothing as well.
  • She did not worry about Bholi's groom whether or not he would keep her daughter happy. She did not even bother to see whether Bholi's groom is a greedy or an aged person.

Bholi’s parents were quite ordinary parents. Her father, Ramlal was the Numberdar of his village. Ramlal had seven children — three sons and four daughters; He was quite prosperous; he was quite traditional in his outlook. He sent his son to city for higher education; but he arranged for his daughters when they were quite young. He was quite much worried about Bholi because of her looks and stuttering. Ramlal had to send Bholi to school because of pressure from Tehsildar.

Ramlal’s wife was very backward in thinking; she believed if the girls were allowed to go to schools, nobody would marry them.

Bholi needed special care, but neither of her parents did that; they just wanted to get her married. When marriage proposal from Bishamber came who was a widower and many years older than Bholi, they accepted the proposal without consulting Bholi.
