Character sketch of Bishop
Bishop is an ideal priest. He is a very gentle, sensitive and generous person who is always ready to help the poor and needy. Though he is highly please as the bishop of the church, he treats everybody as his equal. He is loving and self sacrificing person. He is very caring . He gives away his own comforter To the maid servant as she is going out in the cold at night.
He sales of his estate, furniture and personal belongings to raise money for needy. Bishop's Innocence and credulous nature often earn for him, the anger of his sister, Persome. But he gently remarks, “If people lie to me, they are poor, not I”. He is a very calm and composed and even when he is attacked by the thief, he doesn't lose his patient. He do not think of material comfort. He is an optimist who believe that love, affection and care can transform even our criminal into an honest person. Bishop uploads the fundamental values of religion that are Oneness , equality, Charity, benevolence and empathy. He is an embodiment of Christianity.
The Bishop is kind hearted, benevolent innocent, sympathetic, credulous , caring, generous, sentimental, honourable, pious, trustful and understanding man.
