ali is a clever shikari and compulsive hunter.
he loved her daughter dearly.
he was unable to live without her daughter and gave up hunting.
he is a very determined and patient individual who steadfastedly waits for a letter from her daughter.
he possesses a never say no altitude and an optimist.
in spite of being reprimanted by the officials at the post office he does not utter a word, one can say he is tolerant.
till the end ali didnot giveup his spirit confident

The chapter deals with the story of a old young man Ali who went to the post office daily in search for his daughter's letter.


Ali was a brilliant hunter who left hunting after he realized the pain behind separation. He had only one daughter Miriam who went to Punjab after her marriage and Ali was left all alone.


He went to the post office daily in hope of getting a letter from her daughter but unfortunately was never able to get it.
