Dr. Cuss was medical practitioner at Iping. He was both a jealous man and a curious. When got to know about strange guest at the inn who possessed more bottle and vial than him, he sought excuses to explore this man. He tried to probe Griffin to make him reveal his purpose. However, when he was scared off by the Griffin (the invisible man), he tried to think about the strange phenomenon. He did not give up his curiosity and shared his experience with Bunting. Later he explored the belonging of Griffin to clear his doubts which shows that he was not scared by his earlier experience. He was fully determined to satisfy his doubts.
