Answer:
Gaultier comes across as a man of low self esteem because he is afraid to meet the Mayor. He is proud of his status and feels against dignity to carry the eel pie to the mayor. He is foolish because Jean and Pierre cheat him again by telling that they have taken the pie to the mayor who liked it very much. On the hand, Marion comes across as a dutiful wife blindly believing in her husband's plan. She gives the eel pie to Pierre just because he gave the same presentation as told by Gaultier. She is an excellent cook as told by the two boys.
