Character sketch of Della-

Della is a beautiful and fashionable women. She had so beautiful hair that it would make the jewels of  Queen of Sheba look worthless. She loves her husband and sees a world in him. She is a really caring wife who would do anything for her husband. She even sold her beautiful hair to buy a present for her husband.

Character sketch of Jim-

Jim is a thin man of twenty two. He does not have enough income to support his wife. He bears the burden of fulfilling everyday demands of his wife. He is a very punctual person that why he constantly looks at his watch.

Della-

Della had beautiful, rippling, shining hair like a cascade of brown waters , her hair reached below her knee. Her prized possessions were her hair. Della really loved her husband Jim and could do or sacrifice anything for him. She's frugal and saves every penny she can to bug Jim a wonderful Christmas present. She is a young, affectionate, selfless and somewhat hysterical lady. Della lovingly greeted Jim with a great big hug when he came home from work everyday. She cooked really great and delicious meals for Jim and did everything she can do to make Jim happy.

Jim-

Jim or Mr.James Dillingham Young was a proud owner or a watch, a family heirloom, the watch was his prized possession. Jim had a really sweet loving and caring wife, Della. In the chapter he's also a described as a thin and very serious man of 22. He's just 22 and is heavily burdened by the need to support the household on a low salary with poor financial status or conditions. He's a really caring and loving husband.
