The story 'After Twenty Years' revolves around two main characters Jimmy Wells and Silky Bob. In the story Jimmy Wells is a policeman. He is tough and sturdy in his looks. He is an honest policeman and has maintained his loyalty towards his job.

Jimmy Wells was a policeman who was also the friend of a criminal silky bob however he could not arrest his friend and sent another policeman to do his job.
