Kabir is a boy who studies in class 8A and has been asked to prepare an assignment on what he would like to be when he grows up. He is a timid, shy boy who does not have a natural flair for speeches but he is definitely a human being who feels deeply around the happenings around him. The terrorists attack on 26th november 2008, had touched kabir deeply. In his speech he mentioned people like Major Sandeep Unikrishnan, a National security guard commando , or Vishnu Dattaram Zende, a railway announcer in the CST platform of Mumbai or Karambir singh Kang, the General manager of Taj hotel, Mumbai or the Anti- terrorism squad Chief Hemant Karkare or DIG Ashok Khamte and vijay Salaskar or Mohammad Taufeeq Shiekh (chotu chaiwala) a young boy who ran a tea stall outside the CST platform, who helped the innocent to safety .
Kabeer felt that if he could grew up to be like them, then his life will get some meaning. His dream was not to earn money, fame or worldly success but to emulate characteristics which would help him be a human in true sense of the term.
