He is the narrator and protagonist of the novel. He was a trained surgeon by profession, and is fond of travelling round the world. His voyages make him quite experienced in terms of the ways of the world.
Gulliver was gullible as his name suggests. He rarely talk about his feelings. Whenever he gets chance to run away from monotonous routine of his life, he turns to the sea. Whenever he went away he left his wife and children behind which shows that he had little regards for their feelings.
