Lencho was a hardworking farmer and an innocent person having immense faith in the golden soul of god. He was an ox of man. He worked hard and never complain about any thing. He waited anxiously for the rain which thought would help in his good harvest of corn. However, when the rain turned into the destructive hail strom, he still belived that god would help him. Displaying his faith in God, he even wrote a letter to god seeking help from him and requesting for hundred pesos so that he would feed his family.
He had a immense faith in god but lacks in the faith of humanity. He doubted the post office employees that his money is stollen by them but in reality they only helped him out by giving seventy pesos. He wrote again a letter to god telling him to not to send the remaining money through mail. His faith was so strong that he believed that neither God could have made the mistake of sending less monry nor could denied.
His child simplicity and innocence make him an inspiring character.
