Miss Anne Sullivan was Helen’s teacher and mentor. She came in her life when she was just seven years old. She was sent by the Perkins Institute for blind. The day of arrival of Miss Sullivan is the most important for Helen as she opened the gate of information to her. She guided Helen through all phases of her life. Helen experience many parts of nature with her. Miss Sullivan taught her to communicate by spelling the words on her hand. Miss Sullivan was herself a blind and understood all the difficulties faced by a blind person. She was adorable woman and had a great patience. She also her subjects like Arithmetic, History, Geography, Zoology etc. in playful manner. She also helped Helen in learning speaking. Together they spent a lot of good times.

Miss. Sullivan is one of the greatest teacher of Helen Keller, who always ready to help her in her times of need. She taught Hellen not as an adult; but as she is herself a child. She is like a light house in Helen's dark world who take her from darkness to light....

With the help of Miss. Sullivan Helen learn how to speak. Because of her she is able to understand what other people says due to which she start leaving like us means she can also understand what others are saying and can also talk to them.. Miss. Sullivan taught her by spelling words or letter on her hands. Due to this Helen start learning sign language..

Helen loves everyone in her family... but she loves her teacher the most than others... Her love is same for everyone; but her special affection towards her great teacher Miss Sullivan...

Miss Sullivan is selected for Helen Keller because she know sign language also she is herself partially sighted from this.... Due to this she knows how to attend and treat children like Helen...Due to this she plays a very important role in Helen's dark world.
