Gilman was the bright person in Helen's life who showed her the right path during her college . In Radcliffe college, it was very difficult on helen s part to understand the lectures as there were minimal support of Braille. But Arthur Gilman himself designed Brailles for Helen mainly in German and literature. He even read out the question paper to Helen in exam and allowed her to rewrite the answer by typewriter. He decreased Helen's pressure in studies. As a very compassionate and helping person, he helped Helen take graduation from the college.
