The character which you are talking about is from novel "The Story of My Life" by Helen Keller. Mrs. Lamson is the person who had been one of Laura Bridgman's teachers. It was talk of 1890 and she had recently returned from a visit to Norway and Sweden who specially came to see Helen and she told Helen about Ragnhild Kaata who was also a deaf and blind girl staying in Norway who had been taught to speak. Mrs. Lamson always told about that girl and her success which set Helen to fire and she also started putting her efforts to speak....

Mrs Lamson was Laura Bridgman's teacher.
She had just returned from a visit to Norway and Sweden and told Helen about ragnhild kaat a, a deaf and blind girl in Norway, who had actually been taught to speak.
As a result, Helen also became eager to speak.
I don't know more about it.
Hope it will help you well friend
