Mrs Packletide's Character
Mrs Packletide had many flaws in her personality. she had to incur quite a big loss because of her vanity and jealousy. If she were not suffering from these flaws, she would not have to feel so regretful and ashamed at the end. Her jealousy against Loona Bimberton egged her on to do something adventurous; so she opted for tiger hunt; the chain of events unfolded in a manner that led to embarrassment of blackmailing.
Mrs. Loona Bimberto's Character
Mrs. Loona Bimberton also had the same flaws in her character which Mrs Packletide had. Her rivalry against Mrs Packletide was abnormal. She refused to look at the newspapers publishing her picture along with an article on her tiger hunt. She did not attend the party which Mrs Packletide had arranged after the tiger hunt.
Miss Mebbin
Miss Louisa Mebbin, the paid companion of Mrs Packletide was a very shrewd and crafty lady whose actions were chiefly governed by mercenary motives. She had protective elderly-sister attitude towards money. She was quite unethical professionally as she did not hesitate blackmailing her own client.
