CHARACTER SKETCH OF MRS S
Mrs. S was a kind-hearted, generous, liberal lady. She was fond of collecting things and she treated her things like family. She was a simple, yet naive lady who fell for her long-lost acquaintance, Mrs. Dorling's words. She trusted Mrs. Dorling when she claimed to keep her articles safe, although she had no intention of returning the articles to Mrs. S. She was not at all doubtful of whether she would receive her things back, but rather she was worried about the physical strain Mrs. Dorling had to undergo while carrying her things off to Dorling's place. Mrs. S never questioned Mrs. Dorling's actions, in fact she thought it was an insult to tell her friends to keep those things. She was sad that she had to part with her precious valuables bit had hope that after the war she was going to get them back. But the poor woman could not survive the war.
