Patrick was a lazy boy. He did not like to do homework. After rescuing the elf from the cat, Patrick in return asked the elf to do his homework for 35 days. The elf agreed on doing his homework but due to not having any knowledge about studies, he needed Patrick's help. Patrick would sit beside the elf, reading out loudly from the dictionary and various books of other subjects. He would even go to the library to get books. While doing so, Patrick started gaining the interest that he had lost in studies due to always playing games. He then worked very hard, stayed up nights and went to school every day. At the end of the semester his hard work paid off and he had scored good grades. He had transformed from a lazy boy to an ideal boy who did all his daily work and became very cheerful and polite . This show's us that he had the capability to change himself and he did so with his hard work.
