We can see that Phillips was a very ambitious women, because she worked hard to gain a good position in her class and wanted to be known as the best performer.In that era women were not that ambitious.We can also tell that Phillips was very bold and ahead of her time as we can see that she did not surrender to rroutine lifestyle after her wedding andused to play crossword before breakfast.
