Amanda is the name of this girl in the poem. That girl seems to be of silent and imaginary nature. As her mother stops her and scold her not to do some of the things. She never answer her and always Starts imagining like she is mermaid or a orphan etc. She gets irritated and feel awkward by all these restrictions but never tells to someone.
