The King and Queen of Siam's youngest child is Princess September. She has childlike characteristics all the way through. She cries a lot and won't eat after her pet parrot passed away. She was delighted and lost track of the fact that she hadn't finished her supper when the bird flew into her window and sang wonderfully for her.

This demonstrates how simple it is to make her happy and forget about her suffering. She is a joyous person who proudly introduces her new pet to the entire family.

She cares for the bird and gives her rice by hand because she is kind and sympathetic to animals and birds.

She is susceptible to persuasion because her sisters persuaded her to keep her bird in a cage. When the bird declined to sing and eat, her sensitivity was once again evident. She is compassionate as well since she recognises that birds cannot live in cages and releases her pet bird.
