The Ralph the Rover is a sea pirate who is a very wicked man. He is a selfish man. He plundered many ships in the ocean. He is a very jealous man. He digs a pit for others but falls into the same pit. Seeing the good deed of the Abbot of Aberbrothok he feels jealous of him and thus cuts off the bell on the Inchcape rock so that no other sailor could bless the Abott further. But at the end the Rover himself realises his own mistake after his ship gets dashed into the inchcape rock.
