Ranga is the son of the village accountant who was the first to be sent to Bangalore for higher education. Ranga is a very well mannered and educated young bachelor. A good boy who should get married as he would be the perfect husband for his wife. He is also gullible and gets tricked by the narrator into marrying Ratna. He respects the elders and unlike others he does not lose his village taught values even though he has lived in the city.

Hope it helps!!!
