Ratna is a senior clerk in the story, playing the role of a middle-aged man and has a wonderful experience of working for the last 25 years by now in the story. The man reflects and forms a friendly character in the story and is shown as a very social man who would spend his time with his co-workers during the lunch hour and would have warm conversations with them.

He is known as a kind-hearted person and full of gratitude. He was a great ear to trust- and would never talk of things from one place to the other and people trusted him to a great extent with their things. He was also a very happy and warm soul and would generally smile back at everyone with a happy face.

Ratna projects himself as a peaceful, compassionate, gracious and joyous soul and a helping hand to other people.
