Ebright was a scientist who grew up north of Reading, Pennsylvania and excited the scientific world with a theory about cell life. He has received the Searle Scholar Award and Schering Plough Award for biochemistry and molecular biology. It was his fascination towards butterflies that opened the world to science for him.

As a child he liked collecting things such as rocks, fossils , coins and even the butterflies. His mother also encouraged him by taking her on trips, buying telescopes, microscopes, cameras,etc. The book "the travel of monarch X" became the turning point in his life. in his school and college days he did many experiments which eventually led to his famous theory of cell life.he discovered how a cell could read the blueprint of its DNA.

Richard Ebright was a versatile personality who grew up North of Reading, Pennsylvania and went on to become A brilliant molecular biologist who excited the scientific world with his theory about cell life. He had developed an interest in collecting things in childhood- especially butterflies. It was his fascination for butterflies only that ultimately open the world of science to him. He started maintaining various collections of butterflies, reared them, did research on them and presented various theories. Encouraged and inspired by his mother, Dr Urquhart and his teacher Richard A Weiherer, he won positions in various national and international science fairs for zoology and molecular biology. Apart from having a scientific mind, Richard was also enthusiastic about sports and various co-curricular activities like debating and photography. According to his teacher, RA Weiherer, he was a perfectionist and competitive too, in a good sense.
