• In this story Robertino's mother who is one of the main characters is shown to be someone who does not respect Robertino's grandfather.  Robertino’s mother is  a capable woman who takes care of her husband and son Robertino, however she speaks angrily and harshly to Robertino's grandfather and does not understand the loneliness of the grandfather.
• She is extremely impatient  towards Robertino's grandfather, particularly on those days when he would drop things as his hands would shake due to old age. As such she tells the grandfather that she would in future give him food in a wooden bowl. However, when Robertino said his mother that he would treat her and his father the same way she treats his grandfather, his mother was ashamed to meet his eyes. After that, she started to help grandpa, and shows love and care to him.
