from the story frog in the fountain we come to know that ruskin bond is a hearty eater. he loves food and doesn't want to part with it.
he doesn't like marigolds (they are usually used for making garlands) as once he was stung by a bee which came from a garland given to him.
as he is fond of food he introduced fishes to the fountain at his house. They died however it increased the frogs' population in the fountain.
However aunt Mabel could not stand the constant singing and warbling of the amphibians so she decided to move to her cousin's house.
then granny calls for labourers to take away the frogs and put them in the pond behind the railway station.
they slowly took over the station so the station master got the brilliant idea of taking them to the nearby zoo as it is the best place for creatures small and large.
