      Character sketch of Tom tulliver

    Tom Tulliver was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tulliver and the brother of Maggie. He loves and is concerned about his sister but he over cares her. Tom was considered to have the worst parts of both his paternal and maternal sides. He had the Dodson respect for property and strictness but not the good relationship among people.

  He has his father’s hard – headedness, his ability to keep in mind the grudges and also the confidence in himself, but not his father’s generosity and warmth. He considered ‘care’ in relation to money and property, similar to his mother’s family, but did not think about love and kindness. But at the end, he realizes his mistakes and come back to Maggie before they die together.
