The narrator, who was a vet, lived in Mrs. Pumphrey's neighborhood; he saw Tricki's condition deteriorate regularly.

tricki was a small dog . he was pampered and overfed by his mistress.. he was given much nutritious food. he was greedy enough to refuse food any time. this made him hugely fat . he had a bloodshot and rheumy eyes . he became dull, flabby and listless. he was sick . then he was sent for a surgery .. there he was given no food... lots of exercise was being done..this made him fit ..
