Lady Macbeth consistently taunts her husband for lack of courage though she knows his bad works on battlefield.  

She is acting as consummate hostess enticing her victim.  

She faints immediately after murder of Duncan where audience is left wondering whether this is a part of drama.

Atlast she fails that test due to her own rigid ruthlessness.
