The clear epidermal cellsexist in a single layer and do not contain chloroplasts, because the onion fruiting body (bulb) is used for storing energy, not photosynthesis. Each plantcell has a cell wall, cellmembrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, and a large vacuole. The nucleus is present at the periphery of the cytoplasm.

Give any 4 characteristics of onion peel cells???

- Like other plants, the cell wall of onion is made up of cellulose.

- Cell wall does not contain chlorophyll because the onion bulb is to store food.

- The nucleus is dark and clearly visible.

- Clear vacuoles appear inside the cell.

Hope it helps... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
