1.they are warm blooded animals

2. they have four chambered heart

3.they have mammary glands for the production of milk to nourish their young.

4.their skin has hairs as well as sweat and oil glands.

5.most of the mammals produce live young ones.h however a few of them like platypus and echidna lay eggs.

eg: cat, human, rat, whale, bat etc

Characteristic features of mammalia are :

- Have four chambered heart.

- Mammals are Warm blooded.

- Mammals give birth to the young one that is they are Viviporous.

- Have sweat and oil glands and hairs on the skin.

- Have mammary gland for production of milk.
