Answer:

Effective schools always represent the consistent high expectations towards the success of their students where teachers and instructors take an active part in encouraging and motivating their pupils. Educators should regularly monitor and support students’ learning progress and achievements. I think it is essential to encourage critical thinking, promote professional communication, and competency, which positively affects student learning, decision-making, and further success, both in personal and professional spheres. Another characteristic of effective school is professional leadership where effective school leaders play a core role in determining strengths and weaknesses of school environment, improving learning and teaching processes, and defining barriers to effective teacher-student collaboration. In order to engage in this school practice and positively contribute to school environment, teachers should develop clear roles and responsibilities, followed by clear goals and visions. For example, to enhance educator’s own leadership capacity, it is important to contribute to personal professional learning and development. Continuous improvements of teaching and learning are essential to effective school functioning. Effective schools focus on teacher-student achievements and maximization of learning time, encourage teachers’ professional development, and implement flexible learning and teaching programs. For example, teachers should encourage collaboration between students, support students’ original approaches and learning autonomy, motivate and create new knowledge. Teaching profession is based on constant improvement, which “demands a high level of energy and effort, requiring more talent and hard work than many other professions.” (Ryan, 21) Motivating and safe learning environment is another important feature of effective school, which involves challenging atmosphere, fair discipline, and trust. As a teacher, I believe it is essential to develop personal strategies and approaches to contribute to discipline inside and outside the classroom. For example, regular communication and positive relationships with students may help develop trust, respect, support and positive atmosphere.                                                                     Every effective school provides students with an opportunity to learn in and out the classroom. Effective school leaders always collaborate with different businesses and communities, which allow them to support students’ learning, achievements, and progress. For example, educators should not only encourage students to study inside the classroom but also participate in after-school programs, which may include service learning projects, volunteering, and other out-of-class activities.
