Euglena belongs to the kingdom protists , hence are unicellular eukaryotes  and shows characteristics both like animals and plants.

  • Euglena can move with the help of flagella ,so this a characteristic like animals.
  • It has chloroplasts ,so this a characteristic like plants.
  • In presence of light they can make their own food just like plants but in absence of light they act as heteretrophs just like animals.
