They are steroid containing liquid.
Hormones are always released by endocrine glands.
They do not flow in ducts.
They are always secreted away from their work place.

The chemical substance secreted by endocrine gland which co-ordinate activities of living organisms and also their growth.

Characteristics of hormones:-

  • They are secreted in small amount by endocrine gland.

  • They are pored directly into the blood through circulating system.

  • The hormones have there effect at the site different from where they are produced .

  • They act on specific tissue or target organ.

  • They controlled the activities of our body and also grow its growth.
